Cost
of Leadership Training
and
Course Materials
If a church would like to start a DISCIPLE group, we ask
that they send the prospective leader to a DISCIPLE Training
Seminar. (Leaders can be either ordained clergy or lay members.)
Normally DISCIPLE is only available as a total package, i.e. two days
training for the leader – including accommodation for two nights at a
conference centre – all the written material which the leader will need,
plus a complete set of videos for the 34 sessions and 12 additional
copies of the study manual. This means that once a leader has been
trained, he/she will have everything necessary to start their first
group.
The cost of the total
package is £395 and if the group consists of twelve members plus the
leader, then this cost works out at just over £1 per member per week (£1.12)
over the 34 weeks. Subsequent courses, already having trained
leadership and the set of videos, only need to purchase study manuals for
the new participants and therefore the cost is reduced to approximately
54p per member each week. (The cost of DISCIPLE can also be spread
over ten monthly direct debit payments of £37.50 per month.)
If a church would like to
send more than one person for training, the cost of an additional place
is only £60. (The assumption being that groups will meet on
different days and the leaders will share the set of videos.)
Under the Terms of our Licensing Agreement we are only able
to supply course materials to those who have completed the DISCIPLE
Leadership Training Seminar.

Leadership
Training for DISCIPLE 1: Becoming
Disciples Through Bible Study
Training provides understanding of small group
leadership skills, the ethos and aims of DISCIPLE, the format of the
material and planning of the weekly group meetings. During the
seminar, participants gain an understanding of how to successfully lead
the Bible study by actual hands-on experience with the course materials.

Leadership Training for
DISCIPLE 2: Into the Word Into the World
Churches
who have already completed DISCIPLE 1 will now be able to move on to
DISCIPLE 2 or DISCIPLE 3. DISCIPLE 2 is a 32-week study of
Genesis-Exodus and Luke-Acts.
Once someone has trained to lead DISCIPLE 1,
they are eligible to attend the one-day leadership training for
DISCIPLE 2.
